For its part, ASR BSI says operations are going more or less as expected for this time of the year - which is early in the crop:
Olivia Avilez, BSI Cane Farmer Relations Manager

"We have been getting cane from all three associations, four associations actually. Yesterday we got about 3500, which was really good."
"We definitely are milling our our operations are proceeding at this time and we hope that the associations are not, members are not prevented from delivering their cane. They have a valid commercial agreement since 2021 and they have been delivering."
Reporter:
"Are you able to then say like call many farmers from the BSCFA have delivered cane so far?"
Olivia Avilez, BSI Cane Farmer Relations Manager
"Well, we wouldn't want to disclose the details of of that, but because of course farmers are exposed on that end. But we definitely have received cane from the BSCFA, from both Corozal and Orange Walk."
The company says its TC- TS ratio is actually better than it was last year at this time.
