Yesterday we told you that there was go-slow at the Social Security Board among the unionized workers. They've been demanding a meeting with the CEO to discuss the one inspector who has not seen a transfer in 9 years, meanwhile every other unionized inspector is transferred every few years. Well, they'll get that meeting tomorrow, but to show the board that they mean business, the branches across the country staged small lunchtime protests. In Belize City, the CWU was also joined by other unions. We spoke with them today.
Floyd Neal, General Secretary, CWU

"We're just getting the word out that we're not happy about the treatment of our inspectors and we are committed to consolation meeting tomorrow but I don't have nothing to add to what the president said yesterday."
Reporter:
"How important is it that all the branches came out today?"
Floyd Neal, General Secretary, CWU
"It's important because it demonstrates to the board and to the management of SSB that we have support of our general membership and if you will look around today you will see that not just CWU is present, we have Karl H Memorial Hospital in solidarity. We also have the National Student Union representing today so it's not just a CWU matter."
"We don't want to prejudge tomorrow's meeting but we're hoping that fairness prevails."
