Switching back to tourism, last week FECTAB held a press conference to voice its concerns on several industry changes affecting tour guides.
On Friday, we asked the Minister of Tourism if he had taken FECTAB's concerns into account - but he seemed deeply unimpressed with Fectab's fire-starters:
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism

"I won't respond to them, we have opened doors we have discussions with them all the time but they feel like they can get their fifteen minutes of fame by doing these press conferences. January was the highest month as of January, February is trending the same thing. Now our focus has always been on overnight the cruise the progression of cruise in terms of numbers will depend on when we get that docking facility, but our focus is on building the overnight sector very firmly and for sustained growth for years to come. We are doing that trust me."
Jo
"Would you say that you have tried to be reasonable with them or atleast try to hear out what it is that they want?"
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism
"Trust me they get grants they get loans, those same members who jump up on TV all the time and talk fool."
