At the end of June, Commissioner of Ports Darlin Gaitan made her exit from The Port Authority, at the request of the Board, which terminated her contract.
Today, we met her replacement, the new acting ports commissioner Kaylon Young who's been working with the Port Authority for more than a decade.
Kaylon Young, Acting Ports Commissioner
"Well I've been with the port authority for the last 12 years. The transition to the ports commissioner post its recent and I just took up the post maybe about 2 weeks ago. Last week we had the hurricane Beryl so we had a lot of challenges there but it's been good. I have a lot of support from my colleagues and counterparts and stakeholders so I'm looking forward to the challenge."
