The latest economic figures from the Statistical Institute of Belize show a slowdown in economic growth. GDP estimates for the first quarter months of January to March 2025 showed 2 percent growth. They say this was largely the result of increased production within the tertiary sector, reflecting gains in the ‘Accommodation and food services' and ‘Financial and insurance services' industries. During this period, the primary and secondary sectors down.

And, unemployment figures remain historically low. The latest labour force survey shows that the unemployment rate in April was 2.1 percent, down from 3.0 percent in April 2024.
