And keeping arrivals up means constantly increasing airlift to Belize - that means the number of airlines flying here from international airports.

Tillett provided an overview of airlift and cruise arrivals:

Evan Tillett, Director of Tourism

"In terms of our airline hubs: the top 5 are Houston, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Los Angeles, with Houston being our largest hub - that represents 112,754 passengers in 2025. It is important to note that we have a lot of airlift into our destination and one of the key things that we do is to maintain a relationship with our airline partners because it is critical that we get new flight routes into Belize because it makes it easier for visitors to get to Belize but we must work with our airline partners to make sure that they are making a profit and continue to fly to the destination."

"For 2025 we have an increase of 5.4% compared to 2024. We have a total of 82% of cruise passengers that come to Belize tend to disembark. The breakdown for the arrivals: you have Harvest Caye and you have FSTV. For 2025 we have 48 calls for Harvest Caye and a total of 178,517 passengers to Harvest Caye. To FSTV, we have a total of 532,395 passengers and that is with 195 calls. So the total calls for 2025 represents 243 calls. We were lucky to get some ships that weren't on the schedule and that is a result of the unfortunate hurricane that affected Jamaica. And so to date we have gotten 2 ships, Carnival and one from the Cunard line."
