Corozal police are reporting a fatal accident that occurred yesterday morning on the Northern highway. Israel Chi was driving a tow head truck northbound when between miles 72 and 73 he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road. His passenger, Elvira Eck was launched from the passenger side, and landed some 36 feet off the road. Her skull was crushed by the impact and she died on the spot. Driver Israel Chi has been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and driving without due care and attention.
