Mother of Two Kills Brother in O.W.

She's the mother of two, but Arjemi Cadle will have to say goodbye to her children tomorrow when she is remanded to prison. She has been accused of murdering her little brother. The 33 year old Orange Walk resident was formally charged today after a police investigation showed that she stabbed 28 year old Leovani Chata on Sunday night, which led to his death on Monday morning. On Sunday the family was at their San Francisco Street home in Orange Walk Town having dinner and reportedly drinking heavily. After the meal, Leovani started recounting the childhood abuses he'd taken from his father Teodoro Chata. An argument started, and Leovani pounced on his father, beating him at the dinner table. That's when big sister Arjemi got involved, and grabbed a pint to get him off her father. Leovani did get off, knocked the pint out of her hand, and that's when she claims she picked up a knife in defense. She claims that he advanced upon her and she stabbed him. But instead of taking him to the hospital after he was stabbed, the family left him at home bleeding while his father went to report to the police that he had been beaten by his son. When he was finished with that, the family took Leovani to the hospital and told doctors that he had fallen off a bicycle and cut himself in the side. He was treated and released, but woke the next morning with grave pains. The family called the hospital, but no ambulance came, and when he did reach the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. No police report was ever filed about the stabbing, and police only became aware of it yesterday, when the family started to blame the hospital for his death. Police believe that he died at home on Monday morning, and believe that the family's deliberate cover-up is what led to his death. For proof of this, they cite the fact that the murder weapon was thrown on the roof of another home in their yard. Also, when the police did find out that he had been stabbed just yesterday, the father originally confessed to stabbing him, then broke down and said it was his daughter. After this confession, the father led them to the knife which was still on the roof. All this suspicious cover-up activity has led police to believe it was murder, and not self-defense, and the mother of two will go before the court to hear her charges tomorrow.
