There's a new liquor law on the books, and two beer lovers who apparently didn't know much about it, got a crash course today in Magistrate's Court. The two had the most expensive beers of their lives yesterday when they were separately picked up by police for drinking beer in public. Thirty-nine year old Phillip O'brien was taking a Belikin in front of Li's Store on Mahogany Street yesterday morning at 10:30, when he was picked up by police. Twelve hours later at 11:00 last night, 20 year old Glenford Williams was on New Road slugging down a Belikin Premium when he too was picked up by police. The charge is "prohibition of public drinking." Magistrate Dorothy Flowers fined both men 25 dollars each - five times the value of the beer - and the fines are to be paid by August 15th or they face a week in jail.
