A man caught with public drinking tried to bribe a police officer with $10 and when that didn't work he upped the ante to $15. Certainly not a king's ransom - and not even a cop's ransom - and now 21 year old Armando Hernandez is facing more than just that charge of public drinking.
Police say that Hernandez was drinking in public in Corozal Town when he was stopped by the constable. That's when he offered the bribe if the constable would let him slide. He will now have to tell it to a judge when he answers charges of drinking in public and attempted bribery.
Police also say a San Pedro man tried to buy his way out of a possession of a crack pipe charge. Ernest Wright was found with the pipe and offered to bribe a police officer with $155. He was instead cuffed and charged with possession of a pipe in addition to attempted bribery.
