He was free of charges for almost a week, but the man accused of burning down the Paslow Building, Ivan Ayuso, who had the charge of arson withdrawn against him last Tuesday - appeared in court again this morning to have new charges brought against him.
Today instead of the previous one charge - two charges of arson were read to him. One was for setting the Paslow building on fire and the second for destroying the contents of the building.
A preliminary inquiry which was set to begin was aborted after Defense attorney Ellis Arnold objected to the timing of the P.I. because of the timing of the new charges. Magistrate Earl Jones granted a new date of April 23 and Ayuso was allowed leave on his previous $10,000 bail.
A former clerk, he is accused of setting the Paslow Building on fire on the morning of September 29, 2002.
