Tonight 7NEWS understands that police have one man detained and are close to making a formal arrest in last Tuesday morning's armed robbery of $10,000 from the Belize Bank's northern highway branch.
The suspect in police custody is well known to police, as he has been fingered as the point man in several major crimes recently. None of those charges apparently stuck and police are holding him as they finish up their investigations.
Last Thursday, police recovered a Ford Taurus which was the getaway car used in the robbery.
