And if the ordeal of this morning wasn't sufficiently deflating, Prosecutor Mason and Justice Gonzalez had to do the same thing this afternoon. This time it was the murder trial of Trevor Trapp, accused of the murder of Adrian Humes on the night of general elections in Belize City.

Again, Mason's had a tough time with his first and only witness and had to ask the judge if he could be treated as hostile. But hostile or not, Trapp simply told the court that he remembered nothing. Though he did admit to signing the statement, he said he didn't recall saying what was in the statement. With that, Mason offered no further evidence, and again, asked the judge to instruct the jury to find the accused not guilty.

With that, Trevor Trapp walked out of court a free man just before 5:00 this evening. Adrian Humes was shot five times on North Creek road on election night. This is the second time Trapp has been unsuccessfully brought to court for that crime; the case was thrown out the first time.
