A 3-year-old girl is in critical condition at the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan tonight after a traffic mishap.
At around 10:30 this morning this Ford Expedition bearing Guatemalan license plates was traveling toward Belize City when upon reaching the curve between miles 47 and 48 just outside of Belmopan City drive 38 year Old Sergio Cervantez lost control. As a result the vehicle veered off to the right hand side of the highway striking a lamppost and finally ending with the vehicle turned upside down. 6 persons including the driver, all Guatemalans were traveling in the vehicle. While 5 escaped with only minor injuries, a 4-year-old girl Andrea Cervantez remains at the Belmopan Hospital where she is listed in critical condition with severe head injuries.
