Tonight, an immigrant family of 5 is without their breadwinner because he's been found guilty of having sex with his 14-year-old sister in law.
After being found guilty of carnal knowledge on Thursday, today 39 year old Salvadoran National Oligario Carcamo was sentenced. Trying to get his sentence reduced his wife Rosa Carcamo took the witness stand and told Justice Adolph Lucas that if her husband had sex with her little sister, it must have been consensual. Through tears she explained that what has happened cannot be undone and all she could do was continue with her life being both mother and father for her children. Lucas then told Carcamo that as a brother in law he should have been the one to protect the 14-year-old from sexual predators instead of preying upon her. With that he sentenced Carcamo to 12 years in jail noting that was a minimum sentence because the sentence for carnal knowledge runs up to life imprisonment.
