It's as shocking a murder as Punta Gorda town has seen and today police were trying to find answers for a murder and suicide that occurred in a local bar last night.
At 10:00, 44 year old Adrian Genus went into a bar in the Indianville area of town with a shotgun and opened fire on 27 year old Sarai Ramirez, a waitress in the bar. He shot her to the side of the head at close range and the young lady died shortly after. After turning the gun on her, Genus who also worked at the bar shot himself in the head. He left behind a suicide note, which police have collected as evidence along with the shotgun and two expended 16-gauge shell.
Police are not yet saying what may have specifically sparked the violent ending, but the two were known to have had a troubled relationship.
