"An open and shut case" that's what police in Punta Gorda are calling the murder suicide of Adrian Genus and Sarai Ramirez.
On Monday 44 year old Genus entered Tony's Billiards Club where he worked as a watchman and shot his common law wife of ten years, 27 year old Ramirez who managed the kitchen. Police have now determined that he shot her twice first to the shoulder, and then when she fell to the ground, he shouted at the patrons in the bar, asking if they wanted to get shot as well. Everyone scattered and that's when he then shot her in the face and then turned the shotgun on himself. He left a suicide note written to the very woman he killed which said that if he can't have her no one else can.
The pair's child is now living with Sarai Ramirez's mother.
