For the second time in a week, a 22-year-old has been murdered with a blade in San Ignacio.
The victim last night was Hershel Brown whose throat was slit. Around 7:30 last night police were called to an area known as Savannah located in front of the town market where they found brown with a deep cut wound to his throat. He was still alive, but had lost a lot of blood and he died while receiving treatment at the San Ignacio hospital.
Police today told us that they have no motives and no suspects in the case. Family members say there are equally clueless, as the young man had gone to Santa Elena to get a weed eater part and he was randomly attacked on his way home. But we are told informally that it may be the product of a rivalry between rival crews from Santa Elena and San Ignacio.
It should be noted that just a week ago, Rodney August (Chopped to Death in Cayo) was killed with a machete wound to his shoulder.
