Back in June on 7NEWS Ellen Woods demanded justice and today she got it, but it’s probably not what she expected.

You might remember the irate tourism village vendor who cried foul after she claims was roughed up by one of the owners of the Chon Sing Restaurant on North Front Street. Woods said she was verbally insulted by Shirley Wong inside the restaurant after she went to use the bathroom. And Woods said insult was added to injury when police were called and they took the side of the Chinese businesswomen.

Both Woods and Wong ended up in court after both were charged with harm. Wong later withdrew the charge of harm against Woods. And today Wong got her vindication of sorts when Magistrate Harry Hulett found her not guilty of harming Ellen Woods. And what's more Hulett then bounded Woods over to keep the peace for one year which we assume amounts to probation.

Wong was represented in court by Wilfred "Sedi" Elrington. Woods says her case was weakened because she was unable to call her witness because the police refused to take a statement from her which we take to be a quite irregular omission.
