The September celebrations get underway tonight with the official opening ceremonies while the real bashment spirit of September gets underway this Friday with the carnival king and queen competition followed on Saturday by the Queen of the Bay pageant.
As the longest running pageant in Belize, the Queen of the Bay has its own special place on the celebrations schedule and in the hearts of anyone who experienced a September in Belize City. And this Saturday promises another memorable evening. We were convinced of that when we caught up with 7 young ladies that will this year be vying for the privilege to be called Queen of the Bay for a year. They told Alfonso Noble why they want to be queen.
