Belize police tonight have an all points bulletin out for Honduran national Miriam Aguilar who is wanted for murder. Aguilar is accused of killing her ex- common law husband last night at his home in Lord's Bank village. Police say Aguilar allegedly stabbed Luis Foreman fatally in front of her 11-year-old son. It is a truly a terrible tragedy and Keith Swifthas been tracing the ripple effect.
Yolanda Foreman, Victim's Sister
"I am angry. I am angry that she did this and that she destroyed our whole family. It was a brother that I was close to, I mean we were very close. And to see the kids, that kid is going to need some counseling because he saw everything and to even know that your own mom would do something like that and would to hurt you too, as the child, that is unbearable. I can't explain how I feel. I feel terrible."
Yolanda Foreman is both angry and in mourning after her brother, Luis Foreman, was murdered in his Lord's Bank home last night. The pool of blood still on the floor in home, which he shared with his young son, tells the bloody tale of his brutal murder at the hands of his enraged and jealous ex-common law wife. Yolanda says she last spoke to Luis last night.
Yolanda Foreman,
"It looks she had been threatening him and apparently that night he was with a friend of his and after we close the gas station he usually follows me in my vehicle to my home and then he goes back. This is what I hear from the young lady that was with him, that when he went back home apparently the girl was hiding behind the house and it was dark. And when he opened the door, the kid went outside to do something and when he turned around he said 'whoa' because he saw the girl was there and the girl starting cursing him in Spanish and telling him why he is with this other girl in Spanish. And then the other girl realized that this was the woman that he had before. And then it looked like my brother just stood like that and hold her like that and she started kicking him and after she saw a knife and picked it up."
The accused Miriam Aguilar then allegedly used that knife to stab Foreman to his inner thigh in front of their 11 year old son.
Yolanda Foreman,
"What I heard from the kid too is that she wanted to stab him (Foreman) again and then the kid said 'mommy stop' and she turned around like to juk the kid. Even the kid couldn't believe that his own mother would do that. That is just you know outrageous and well they called us and said he died when he was going to the hospital."
Foreman died while his alleged killer Miriam Aguilar fled from the scene abandoning her 11 year old son and she has not been seen since. Police are looking for her and lead investigator Albert Kelly says there is an all points bulletin out to locate her.
Inspector Albert Kelly, Ladyville Police
"At this time we don't know where she is and we have since sent out radio message to the different formations and we are getting some posters to place around the city and the different exit points around the country."
And as for what took place the family says police need to look at an always tumultuous 16-year relationship between the two. Luis and Miriam were not currently dating but his sister says that didn't stop Miriam.
Yolanda Foreman, Victim's Sister
"She have always threatened him that she was going to kill him, that she was going to do something to him. She was a violent woman. She is just that type of violent woman and that was it for her. Everytime just threatening and threatening so I don't doubt that she had that in her mind."
Maureen Williams, Luis' Ex-Girlfriend
"I would justice. I want them to find her because its unfair to the family, to the kids, and to everyone."
And justice seems like the least this family can or should ask for after this tragedy.
A post mortem on Luis Foreman's body is scheduled for tomorrow which will explain why he died from a stab wound to his left thigh. Investigators believe that the knife wound ruptured a major artery.
