An American woman died this weekend as a result of a traffic mishap. At around 8 on Saturday night police were called out to an area between miles 78 and 79 on the Northern Highway where they found a Pontiac Car with Texas license plates on the right hand side of the road with extensive damages. Investigations revealed that the driver of the vehicle lost control as he was traveling from Corozal to Libertad Village. Passenger 41-year-old Annett White, U.S. National and Resident of Carmelita village died after receiving severe head and body injuries. Police have since charged the driver of the vehicle identified as 30-year-old James Lord. He was charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and driving drunk.
