Tonight police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the worrying death of a toddler in the Toledo District. This afternoon police who were in the area of Sunday Wood Village came upon the decomposing remains of a two-year-old child that had gone missing at around 5:30 on Thursday evening.
The mother of the child, Amelia Coy, had reported to police that she had gone to a nearby creek with her husband and with their four children, leaving the 2 year old boy with the husband's brother at the family home in the village. When they returned the child was nowhere to be found. Police and BDF launched a search but up until yesterday, the found nothing.
It was not until today when police officers were back in the area that their attention was drawn to vultures in an area about a mile away from where the search was concentrated. Soon enough they found the almost completely decomposed body of the child. They are now investigating the child's death and are not ruling out foul play. That appears possible because the child was found a distance away, more than a mile, for where he was last seen.
