Tonight, Punta Gorda police are no closer to finding out how a two-year-old boy died in the Sunday Wood Village in the Toledo District. Presently they are awaiting a visit from the Police Forensic Officer, Dr. Mario Estradabran who will travel there tomorrow. It won't be a post mortem examination, just an inspection of the remains. Those remains are just a few scattered bones, all that was left after vultures were finished with the body.
As we reported last night, the two-year-old child was last seen at around 5:30 on Thursday evening. His remains were found yesterday when police followed the sight of vultures in the area. On Thursday, the boy's mother, Amelia Coy, went to a nearby creek with her husband and four children, and left the toddler with his uncle at the family home in the village.
Police say they suspect foul play, but are awaiting the forensic investigator's assessment to confirm this.
