And while police have yet to name Vasquez's alleged killer, tonight investigators have the name of the man they want for the killing that may have started it all: the fatal shooting of 21 year old Sydney Bradley on Thursday night. As we reported, Bradley was standing in front of his home on West Canal around 9 on Thursday night when a gunman on a bike standing on the Berkeley Street Bridge fired about 3 shots in his direction. One of those shots hit Bradley in his chest and he died about 2 hours later while undergoing surgery. Tonight police have an all points bulletin out for their prime suspect 18-year-old Michael Faux also known as 'Lee Mikes.' Police warn that Faux is a wanted man and he is considered armed and dangerous. Assistant Superintendent Chester Williams today commented on the investigation.
ASP Chester Williams,
"We have sufficient evidence and we have also obtained a warrant, in the first instance, for the arrest of one person in the name of Michael Faux who will be charged upon apprehension for the murder of Sydney Bradley. At this point in time we believe the motive is as a result of a previous misunderstanding that they might have had."
Although he is only 18, Faux has had a number of run-ins with police. His name rarely made the news because since he was a minor his cases were dealt with at the Family Court. As for Sydney Bradley, a post mortem was performed on him today and his funeral is scheduled for Wednesday.
