It was an outrage in June of 2003 when 7 young men were accused of gang raping and sodomizing a 16-year-old high school student. Well that outrage amounted to not much at all: because they are all free men tonight after the case against them was thrown out due to a lack of evidence.

Deon Ferguson, Francis Petillo, Deon King, Joseph Logan, Eugene Rosado, and Joseph Myers were charged for raping the girl on June 11th of 2003. At the time she claimed that she met Ferguson, known to her as "Weedie," on Western Avenue where he offered to ride her home on the handle of his bike. She agreed but said that instead of taking her home, she claims that Ferguson took her to a house on Mahogany Street where she was raped by a gang of men.

In addition the girl claimed that Ferguson and a seventh man sodomized her. The alleged seventh attacker was Mark "Markie Puss" Saragoza who never made it to court because he was murdered in 2004.

The case against the 6 surviving accused felt apart when Prosecutor Majorie Moyston decided to drop the case after reviewing the medical evidence and talking to witnesses. The case was already in motion and today Moyston told the court she was not able to proceed due to a lack of credible evidence.
