A bar brawl came to a deadly end on Friday night and now a 20 year old is facing charges of manslaughter by negligence.

The victim is 25-year-old San Jose Villager Dalito Hererra who was drinking at 'Los Pinos' Bar in the village with a group of men. Sometime around 10 pm a fight erupted and someone threw a pint bottle against the wall. Few could have imagined what happened next because the official report from police is that the pint bottle hit the wall and shards of glass ricocheted off the wall. One of those shards allegedly hit Hererra and cut an artery in his right arm. That is the police's version but his family and even some eyewitnesses who were in the bar say he was actually stabbed. Hererra, who did not go to the hospital, but went instead for a machete eventually bled to death from that severed artery.

Six suspects were detained and today police charged 20-year-old Elvis Alonzo Gonzalez for manslaughter by negligence. Why manslaughter by negligence? Well investigators say Gonzalez never meant for the pieces of the pint bottle to hit Hererra, much less kill him.
