Last night on this newscast, you saw an 11 year old tell her story of abduction and sexual abuse. Tonight there are stunning new developments in that story. Police today charged the child with kidnapping along with the other girl. On the directive of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the 11-year-old girl was picked up from her home this morning and this afternoon she appeared in Magistrate's Court where she was denied bail and remanded for 8 days at the Youth Hostel. Tonight Oscar Bonilla, the girl's father was again in our studios; he is totally devastated at the disastrous turn of events.
Oscar Bonilla, Father of Rape Victim
"Yesterday I was on Channel 7 and this morning when I returned home from going to look for a job I saw police in my mother's house. The police said they came to see what is going on with us and what is the problem and then they took me and my dad to the police station and there the officer in charge called the DPP's office and he said they said they were going to be sending a paper to arrest the two little girls, my daughter and the next girl. From this morning my little girl got arrested and got charged and this afternoon at 4 o'clock she went to Magistrate's Court and she was charged and she went to mile 21 (the Youth Hostel0. I feel really...I don't understand why the DDP's office charged the two little girls because they say they were in the vehicle with us when we took the guys to the police station but they didn't have anything to do with it. We already got charged and they already messed up my family and the family of the next girl.
I don't know what will happen tomorrow and all this happened after I got the interview with Channel 7 because nothing was done before. My only question is what would have happened if Channel 7 hadn't given me the interview. Would they still have charged my daughter? Everything would have been fine but because it came out on news last night and now this morning police charged my daughter for the same thing that they charged us for and I really don't understand it. I really need help from somebody because my situation is hard.
Like I told you yesterday from the 21st of April my life changed completely and my life is not the same and now I need help. I can't pay a lawyer because I have no money, I owe rent, I have four kids to put in school and I don't have money to pay school fees, and buy uniforms and books. I have nothing right now. I really don't understand what happened or why this is happening to us.
Right now I need help. If I a lawyer could help me I would accept it because right now I don't have money so I can't say I will go and get a lawyer. Right now I don't have nothing, not even to eat so my situation is bad. If somebody could help me I would really appreciate it."

And while the Bonilla family is struggling to cope with the latest legal chokehold that's been put on them, there is still no charge against anyone in connection with the complaint of sexual abuse made by the 11 year old. So what's the police's side of the story? We'll have that later on in the newscast.
