And while that Belize City robber is on the loose, in Punta Gorda, police have caught up with a burglar who's been creating havoc across the town.
Yesterday police picked up 25-year-old Collins Mangar who is believed to have been responsible for burglarizing a number of homes in Punta Gorda and surrounding villages. And, sure enough, when they picked him up Mangar was transporting a trove of stolen goods. And while that find might have been enough, when police went to search his home, they found much more including jewelry, electronic equipment and household items which were also believed to be the products of burglaries.
Mangar has since been charged with 5 counts of burglary, 5 counts of handling stolen goods and drug trafficking because when he was caught police also found 5 grams of cocaine on him. He appeared in Magistrate's Court today and was remanded to custody.
