They daringly pulled off an armed robbery of a loaded passenger bus but police say 20-year-old Jason Phillips and 21 year old Vallan Avila were found hiding under a bed and in a closet. Around 1:30 yesterday, the Cabrera's bus was northbound to Orange Walk Town when, just a couple of miles out of Belize City, Phillips allegedly put a knife to the conductor's throat and ran away with his moneybag. Police caught up with Phillips and Avila in an apartment complex near the Esso Coral Grove Gas Station. In one bedroom Phillips was under a bed and when they opened the next door, Avila was in a closet. Police add that they found $173 of the $200 that had been stolen stuffed in Phillips' boots. Avila actually had the black bag and in his room they also found a butcher's knife.

The young men were jointly charged with robbery and handling stolen goods. They were denied bail and they'll return to court on March 2nd.
