A thief who targeted primary schools is in jail tonight. In court this morning 38-year-old Lionel Myles was formally charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into Wesley and James Garbutt Seventh Day Adventist Schools. Police allege that Myles broke into Wesley Primary between November 5th and 6th of last year and stole s microwave, a water cooler, 2 photo frames, and two yellow tablecloths. He allegedly broke into James Garbutt which is also on Albert Street between January 20th and 23rd of this year and stole three pots.
Today in court Myles attempted to plead guilty to the Wesley break-in but Magistrate Margaret Gabb-McKenzie rejected the plea since Myles claims he took the microwave from the school but didn't break-in to get it. Gabb-McKenzie denied Myles bail and he was remanded to custody until March 2nd.
And on the subject of that microwave, 42 year old Dwayne "Bom Jones" Flowers was charged with handling stolen goods because the microwave was found in his possession. He pleaded not guilty and will join Myles back in court on March 2nd.
