A former security officer at the Traffic Department who allegedly attempted to rape another man is tonight behind bars. The victim, an 18-year-old car washer at Pererra's Car Wash at mile 2 and a half on the Western Highway reported to police that at around 2:30 on the afternoon of Tuesday, Valentine's Day, traffic officer 32 year old Albert Arnold Hendy went to his workplace. Hendy asked him for a drink of water, but it seems he wanted more than water because when the young man turned around to give him the water Hendy pounced on him. He was choked and dragged and told to take off his pants. When he did not comply Hendy allegedly pulled off his pants and proceeded to rip off the young man's underwear. A struggle ensued during which the 18 year old managed to fight off his attacker and kept him at bay using a machete that was inside the office. With the help of the owner of the car wash hendy was kept on the premises until the police picked him up.

Today Albert Arnold Hendy was arraigned in Magistrate's Court number 4 where he was charged with attempted unnatural crime. He was denied bail and remanded until February 28th.
