For the second time in a week police have made a major weapons seizure in the city. This time, the guns were found on George Street but police won't disclose the address because they say the owner of the residence probably did not even know that major weaponry had been stored on his roof.
Acting on a tip, police descended on the residence on George Street before 5 this morning. They made a startling series of discoveries: bundled together on the roof were on the roof one AK47, one Uzi submachine gun and one SMG submachine gun. Also found in the area was an extra magazine and over one hundred live rounds of ammunition for the various weapons.
All those firearms are prohibited, meaning they cannot be licensed and can only be used by the armed forces. That's enough to start a small war, but police can't say who is responsible for it. All the department did say in a press statement was that: "criminals use homes of unsuspecting individuals and elderly people to hide their weapons, drugs and proceeds of crime."
