He is already a convicted thief and while he won't spend any more time in jail today 19 year old Tyrone Godoy added one more crime to his rap sheet. In Magistrate's Court Godoy was convicted of theft for stealing a bike from a 12 year old boy.
It occurred on January 23rd of this year when the boy Raymond McKoy parked his bike outside Ho Ho Restaurant on Albert Street and went inside. McKoy told police that when he came out he saw Godoy riding off. The case got a lucky break when police officers were taking a statement from 12 year old McKoy, Dwayne White, another teenager, rode pass on a bike that matched the description of McKoy's bike. White was pulled off the bike and in court he testified that he bought it from Godoy for $40. In a statement from the dock Godoy said somebody gave him the bike to sell.
Today Magistrate Harrison Hewlett sentenced Godoy to 2 years in prison but it will run concurrent to the 5 years Godoy is already serving for a burglary conviction.
