On April 1st of 2005 Marlon Arnold bit off the tip of a man's finger. Arnold said it was in self defense but police called it maim and charged Arnold for it. Well today it took a jury less than two hours to agree with Arnold and he was acquitted. Arnold was charged for biting off a piece off Amado Watson's pinky finger. The two were allegedly fighting at a boat dock in San Pedro. Arnold maintained in the trial that yes he did it but it was in self defense. He spoke to us after walking out of the courtroom a free man.
Marlon Arnold, Acquitted
"Right now I am happy and thing that the Judge and the jury really gave me justice and couldn't be any happier than I am right now."
Keith Swift,
But you did bite off a piece of that man's finger.
Marlon Arnold,
"Yes I did but I did it in self defense. I didn't mean to do it or anything like that."
The presiding judge was Adolph Lucas. Cheryl Lynn Branker-Taitt was the prosecutor. Arnold was undefended.
