Commissioner of Police Gerald Westby today confirmed that they have cracked the case of the Guatemalan bandits that have been terrorizing tourist operations in the Cayo District. As we have reported, police have one man detained and they are working on the other men believed to have been involved in the holdups. Westby disclosed the name of the man they have in custody.

"We have arrested a Guatemalan, a 36 year old Guatemalan Marcus Molina from San Benito Guatemala with a number of these cases and a press release will be issued this morning and it is an ongoing investigation so we wouldn't want to comment much further on it."

I know that some of these men are already detained in Guatemala. Will you all be persuading the Guatemalans to hand them over to Belize police?

"Well we have had good working, excellent relationship with Guatemala but again I said it is an ongoing investigation and I wouldn't want to comment on it for you."
