A 29 year old is tonight faces murder charges, accused of killing his own uncle. Sometime around 10 on Friday night, Kenneth Garcia, who police say was drunk, struck his 63-year-old uncle Amilcar Garcia across the head with a galvanized pipe. Because of the serious head injury, Amilcar was brought down to the KHMH in Belize City, but died on Saturday morning. Now the one suffering most is Argelio Garcia father to Kenneth and brother to the victim. He told Alfonso Noble his story this afternoon.
Argelio Garcia, Father of Accused
"The one who killed him was my son. He told him do you want to fight with me? He then picked up a rock and threw it at him. My son then ran out and he picked up other rocks and began to chase him then he picked up a piece of iron and threw it at my son. My son tried to defend himself. My son then took that same piece of iron and killed my brother.
He has 27 years of living there at my house. I always used to give them advice because I did not want to chase my son out of my house and neither my brother. I did not want to hurt either of them. This is ridiculous and at the same time I'm ashamed because these kinds of things should not happen within families. "
The uncle and the nephew have lived under the same roof for years and were always arguing but it never got physical before.
