Donicio \"Life\" Salazar Gets Life for Taking A Life

They call him "Life" - and that's the sentence that 21 year old Donicio Salazar got today from Justice Adolph Lucas. On December 1st he was found guilty of the chopping murder of Rodney August. On June 28th of 2004, Salazar attacked Rodney August near the Macal River in San Ignacio and brutally chopped him. August died nine hours later at the hospital.

And while it's life in prison for taking that life, Justice Lucas noted that by his interpretation of a new statutory instrument gazetted on December 2nd, even a convicted killer like Salazar, once he is not serving a death sentence, could be eligible for parole.
