Giovanni Perez's Montero Stolen and Torched

A 2001 Mitsubishi Montero that was stolen on Saturday night has been found but it's not much use to the owner because the $25,000 vehicle was torched.

30-year-old Giovanni Perez reported to police that between 10 pm on Saturday and 2:35 am on Sunday, someone stole his vehicle from in front of Putt Putt Bar and Grill on Newton Barracks.

Police launched a search for the vehicle which today took them to an area near Burrell Boom where they found the vehicle or what remained of it. It was completely destroyed by fire, but interesting to investigators is that it does not appear to have been stripped before it was destroyed by fire. Investigations continue.
