There hasn't been a murder in the Corozal District since August of last year, an 8 month break. But tonight there is a shocking one to report; it is a case of fratricide, sister killing brother.
This afternoon at 2:00 police were called to Second Street in Corozal Town where they found 18 year old Dale Lino bleeding to death. He had been stabbed to chest immediately beneath the heart. And police say his sister stabbed him, with a kitchen knife. He died shortly after.
What led to such a terrible end? Well yesterday, Lino, who has an advanced drug dependency, stole his mother's television. Police caught him at 4:00 yesterday morning, and charged him for theft. But he cried to his mother as he was going to court this morning and she agreed to drop the charge. He was back at her house by the afternoon, and that's when he and his sister got into a fight, which allegedly ended when she stabbed him. Police recovered the knife, and the 21-year-old sister is being held pending charges.
