Her 15-year-old son was murdered on Thursday evening but now Semona Bacab has made an explosive claim: she says her son was still alive when he was taken into the morgue. Jomo Lamb was shot near his home on Rivero Street around 7:00 and by 7:30 he was pronounced dead by a paramedic. But Bacab says when she visited her son's body on Friday and Saturday in the KHMH morgue, warm blood was still streaming from his nose. It's a startling accusation from a grieving mother but Bacab told Keith Swift she has witnesses who can corroborate her story.
Semona Bacab, Says Son Was Alive In Morgue
"I saw my son breathing and I saw blood coming out of his nose and like it was bubbling. I said that can't happen. I feel that if they had at least assisted him and took him to at least emergency or a theatre - I think they could have saved my son because Jomo wasn't dead, Jomo was in a coma. Even when I visited the hospital on Friday, three times, and the three times with the family, sisters and brothers, Jomo was still bleeding through the nose and through the mouth, warm blood coming out of Jomo."
Keith Swift,
People will say that you are a grieving mother and you're just emotional, you don't really know what you're talking about. What do you say to that?
Semona Bacab,
"Well everybody has their own beliefs because if they get into my situation experienced what I experienced, I think they wouldn't say something like that because everybody has a loved one and I don't care what it is, that is my nine months' belly pain and nobody can't tell me nothing which I see from didn't see."
Bacab filed a formal complaint with the KHMH yesterday. This evening a hospital representative told us that while the hospital empathizes with the grieving Bacab, her version of events does not got with the patient notes. They say that when Jomo Lamb was taken to the hospital he was already dead. A post mortem was conducted on Jomo Lamb this morning. It certified the cause of death as a bullet to the chest. He will be buried on Thursday.
