He’s the one usually getting people out of jail, but 7News has confirmed that tonight, the Ombudsman’s assistant, popularly referred to as the “Ombudsboy” Lionel Castillo is in police custody – reportedly being investigated in connection with a complaint of extortion.
Details of the case are not known at this time – but Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid says that they are questioning Castillo, and he may be held through the weekend.
Seen here beside Officer Commanding Eastern Division Chester Williams – and to the right of your screen, Castillo has been known to act as a go-between with Police and underworld figures.
Also, as Ombudsboy and a long time creature of the courts, Castillo is known to be well connected in the Magistrate’s Court - and the complaint reportedly comes from someone who had a case in court.
