Gunshots rang out again last night on the southside of Belize City as two men were injured by gunfire in what may be related shootings.
The first happened at about 7:00 in the Yabra area. That's when police got called to Waight Street where they found 23 year old Andrew West with multiple gunshot wounds to the left side of his body. West told police that he was just walking along the street when two men rode up with what looked like 38 revolvers and opened fire. West said he recognized one of the shooters. He was transported to the KHMH where he remains in a stable condition.
3 hours later, police were called back to the same Waight Street where they found 28 year old Edwin Rivera, with a gunshot wound to his hand. And just like the shooting victim three hours earlier, Rivera told the police he was just walking along the street when he heard several shots and realized that he had been hit. He told police he did not know who shot him.
