They call themselves the "Majestic Intercessors" and they want to change the music young people listen to. But to do that, a group of 8 youths from Dangriga say they need instruments and right now they don't have enough. This week the group released its first CD entitled "Turn your Back Pan Di Devil." Group leader 19-year-old Silas Sabal and some of the band members visited our studios yesterday to promote the new release.

"We are from Dangriga and we mostly sing punta. It is mostly punta music on the CD. We have one reggae and we two dancehall and we have two reggae. We have two reggae and two dancehall on the CD. So we mostly sing punta though.
We brought out this album for fundraising because we are not only going about asking people for just money like but it is just like them getting something in return too. But we want the public to also support us financially if they could. So we are begging them to support us financially so that we could accomplish our goal.
We don't have any instruments. We don't have any equipment. Our plan is for us to have our own equipment, our own speakers, so that we could continue having these positive activities, especially in our area in Dangriga because Dangriga used to be full of these activities, especially like how they call it the culture capital, but there are mostly having now 'dance until your momma come and get you,' and those rest of activities but the positive activities have died out. So we want to be the one to continue to be having these positive music to influence young people."
The CD is available at Venus Store.
