Detainee Says Constable Godfrey Moreira Beat Him Up!

Police have also arrested another officer for breaking the law and this time one is accused of beating up an inmate. He is constable number 482 Godfrey Moreira and he has been charged for grievous harm. Anthony Garnett told police that while in detention at the Dangriga Police Station, Constable Moreira used excessive force against him.

Constable Moreira appeared in court yesterday. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail of $2,000. He has been interdicted pending the outcome of his criminal trial.
