Will Zenaida Moya be charged for the assault on PUP talk media personality Vaughan Gill? Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid today told us that the Department is still looking at the complaints, but they have not made a final decision on whether to press charges.
But more than a legal decision, our sources say it is in many ways a political decision. And the thinking is that politically, it could backfire on the ruling government if Moya is charged and that, tactically, it would be preferable to not punctuate the pro-PUP momentum with the news of an arrest. But we’ll wait and see.
