And there was also a shooting in Ladyville at about 8:30 last night. It happened at "Everyday Supermarket" at mile 13 on the Northern Highway. Two of the Chinese shopkeepers were injured; one had been pistol-whipped, the other shot.
They told police that two unmasked men stormed into the store; one carried a knife, the other a pistol. 43-year-old shop owner Gung Han Lu says he was batted in the face, and when his 32-year-old assistant, Kim Fu Zhen went to his rescue, he was shot three times to the left shoulder, left leg and abdomen.
The men then robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of cash, phone cards and two cell phones. Both men were taken to the KHMH where pistol whip victim Han Lu has checked out while Zhen is in stable condition.
