Pedestrian Killed on PG-San Antonio Road

A pedestrian was knocked down and killed on Saturday evening by an on-duty BEL employee driving a company vehicle. It occurred around 6:30 between miles 12 and 13 on the Punta Gorda-San Antonio Road. That's where police found the body of Guatemalan national Jose Choc. He was dead and had multiple head and body injuries. 33 year old Henry Archer, a BEL employee from the Indianville Area of Punta Gorda, told police he was driving to the dump area when he hit Choc who was crossing the road. An official release from BEL says that the company is investigating.
