Nanny on Trial for Molesting 9 Year Old Girl

The trial started today for a couple charged for molesting a 9 year old little girl. 34 year old Beverly Brown Simpson and her common-law husband Wilfred Gillett are charged with 6 counts of abetment to carnal knowledge and a count of indecent assault. Simpson was the girl's babysitter. The girl told police that brown would forcefully pull her into the bedroom and hold her down for Gillett to rape her. It is a serious allegation and today the first witness was the now 11-year-old victim. The child identified Gillett and Simpson in court and recounted six encounters between April and May of 2006. Crown Counsel Nigel Ebanks is prosecuting and the couple is undefended.
