Six days after thirty year old Dawn Billary lost seventy thousand dollars worth of property in a fire, her thirty six year old brother Ernest Billary has been charged with arson and remanded. The police had said due to reports that the accused may have a mental problem they would delay any action taken until they have been advised by the Director of Public Prosecution. Well this morning authorities wasted no time and escorted Ernest Billary over to the Belize City Magistrate's Court where he was denied bail and transported to the central prison. He will remain there until February fourteenth when he is schedule to reappear in court.

The fire which occurred on Sunday morning at number ten Hibiscus Lane in the St. Martin de Porres area almost claimed the lives of Dawn Billary's two younger children, a four month old and a six year old but luckily they were saved by their sixteen year old sibling who is also named Ernest Billary. But in rescuing one of his brothers, the teenager received burns to his forehead and nose.

It is not known why Ernest Billary allegedly burned down his sister's house where she has been living for the past three decades. During the initial investigation it was reported that he had been making several after he was told he could no longer live at the residence. Billary was seen by neighbors jumping a fence and running away at the time the fire occurred.
